Devils Punch Bowl State Natural Area - Beverly Beach

The Devils Punch Bowl State Natural Area features a variety of outdoor amenities for enjoying the wonderful scenery found at the park including several picnic areas overlooking the ocean and the seaside cliffs around the Otter Crest Area. The park offers several viewpoints for watching the intense wave action along the coastline and for examining the unusual geological features found along the park grounds. The viewpoints feature the opportunity to explore the wildlife living on or near the headland and its neighboring offshore rocks plus providing another location to partake in whale watching activities from the shoreline. To the north of the Devils Punch Bowl Rock Formation is a thriving marine garden, especially wonderful to visit during receding tidal conditions where a host of intertidal animals are visible. Other features of the Devils Punch Bowl State Natural Area include several public-parking locations, public restrooms, a pathway trail located along the fenced grounds overlooking the ocean scenery, and a stairwell leading to the beach sands of Beverly Beach. The southern end of the Town of Otter Rock converges to a point based on the direction of the Pacific Coast Scenic Byway and the shape of coastal cliffs adjoining Beverly Beach. The residential areas give way to Highway 101 as it cuts closer to the cliff’s edge and heads towards the Beverly Beach Area. The Beverly Beach Area is home to the very popular Beverly Beach State Park and Campground and several residential developments known as Finisterre and Beverly Beach.
