The Community of Seal Rock - Ona Beach State Park

The Pacific Coast Scenic Byway traverses south through the Community of South Beach and enters the northern end of the Community of Seal Rock at the Beaver Creek Area. A turnoff leads east off the highway towards Beaver Creek and the rural residential settings found along the creek. Beaver Creek itself heads west through the Ona Beach State Park eventually draining out into the ocean. The Ona Beach State Park has a boat launch for accessing Beaver Creek for kayaking and canoeing boating activities. The boat launch is located on the east side of Highway 101, just east off the highway turnoff for North Beaver Creek Road. The Ona Beach State Park is a wonderful park facility geared towards enjoying outdoor activities at the Oregon Coast. The park facilities include a spacious paved parking lot accessible off Highway 101 on the west side and a building with public restrooms. The park’s picnic areas feature a large green belt of grass set along the waters of Beaver Creek together with plenty of picnic tables for enjoying the beautiful coastal scenery. A pathway leads from the parking lot west towards the beach. The trail runs into a pedestrian bridge that provides access over the waters of Beaver Creek. On the other side of the bridge, the trail leads onward out to the beach strand found on the western edge of the park. The beach strand is excellent for beachcombing and kite flying activities plus the areas centered near the beach and Beaver Creek offer additional swimming activities.
