The Community of Seal Rock - Seal Rock Residential Neighborhoods
The placement of Highway 101 in the Community of Seal Rock plays a major part in the formation of many of the residential neighborhoods developed near the Seal Rock State Recreation Site. In some sections of Highway 101, the roadway moves closer to the edge of the ocean bluffs offering travelers with fantastic views of the white water surf and the rock formations of Seal Rocks. Just south of the Seal Rock State Recreation Site, several turn-outs are available for pulling off Highway 101 providing wonderful vantage points of the surrounding coastline scenery. These turn-outs are very popular for enjoying winter storms and other heavy surf conditions as well as being a great spot for evening sunsets or bright sunny days. Many of the residential neighborhoods within the Community of Seal Rock are situated on the east side of Highway 101 overlooking the same breath-taking scenery found along the turn-outs. Additionally, many of the residential home sites are accessible off streets that connect directly to Highway 101 and feature oceanfront properties, ocean view lot locations and other rural settings. Seal Rock Street connects to Highway 101 at two locations creating a half loop running through a portion of the gently sloped hillsides found near the State Park. The properties sited here include ocean view lot locations plus rural settings with greater amounts of open space between property lines.
