The Community of Seal Rock - Driftwood Beach State Recreation Site

The Driftwood Beach State Recreation Site is located on the west side of Highway 101 in the southern end of the Community of Seal Rock and offers Day-Use Facilities only. Key park amenities include paved parking, ocean view bench seating, picnic tables, a building with restroom facilities and drinking fountains. Also, the Driftwood Beach State Recreation Site features a paved trail to the beach offering the opportunity to explore a wide expanse of the sandy beach in both directions. Several Seal Rock Neighborhoods are located conveniently near the Driftwood Beach State Recreation Site for gaining access to the wonderful beach strand including the Driftwood Village Mobile Home Park and Oceanview Terrace. The Driftwood Village Mobile Home Park features a planned community catering to the 55 and older community on the east side of Highway 101 directly across from the State Park grounds. A short distance south of the State Park is the neighborhood area known as Oceanview Terrace, a nice community sited on a sloping hillside on the east side of the highway as well. The Oceanview Terrace Community offers spaced lot locations set amongst evergreen trees and manicured yards, together with some of the properties affording panoramic horizon views of the ocean. Highway 101 leaves the Community of Seal Rock and enters into the North Waldport Area, home to many residential developments found along the Bayshore Spit. These developments include Sandpiper Shores, Sandpiper Village, Seafarer and Bayshore. The beach strand from Seal Rock heads south and ends at the end of the Bayshore Spit and the mouth of the Alsea Bay. The Alsea Bay Bridge greets travelers heading over the waters of the Alsea Bay and provides entry into the main areas of the City of Waldport on the south side of the bridge.
