Cutler City and Drift Creek

Heading south from the neighborhood of Taft and Schooner Creek, Highway 101 heads towards the Siletz Bay and the Siletz River System. Just south of the Schooner Creek Bridge, Highway 101 meets the neighborhood area of Cutler City. Cutler City was one of the original five townships/cities that were combined to form the City of Lincoln City. The Cutler City Area has roots to the original settlement of Lincoln City and continues to be a popular Lincoln City neighborhood. Cutler City is situated on a small tidal plain and overlooks the Siletz Bay and the Salishan Spit/Pacific Ocean to the west. The south end of Cutler City is bordered by Drift Creek, a creek system that feeds into the Siletz Bay. To the east of Cutler City and Highway 101, Drift Creek winds its way inland into a small valley, and then on into the coastal mountains. The Drift Creek Community features a rural country setting situated along the creek and the surrounding valley and mountains. The Drift Creek Community offers residents with a variety of choices including creek frontage, ranches with acreage, rural open spaces supporting horses and livestock, and properties set near or within evergreen treed forests. While the Drift Creek Area is readily accessible to Highway 101, the area features a warmer climate belt due to its inland aspect and its location away from the ocean shoreline fog/wind belt. This attribute attracts residents who are looking to enjoy warmer days of sunshine in the summer months and gardeners looking for better conditions for growing their fruits, vegetables, herbs and flower gardens.
