The Salmon River Estuary and its associated sand spit area are accessible by kayak/boat from the county park located on the north side of the Salmon River. The Salmon River Estuary includes a natural built sand spit area with a small beach strand that offers visitors with a private setting for exploring this pristine habitat set along the Pacific Ocean. The land formation to the south of the spit area separates the estuary area from the residential community at Roads End, and is sometimes referred to as Lands End. The rock formations and sheltered coves/beaches that make up the Lands End Area are sometimes accessible at very low tides. The adventurous traveler can observe various geological features as well as explore tide pools and hunt for beach agates. The community of Roads End is located on the south side of Lands End and features the first residential community in North Lincoln County.
