The Town of Otter Rock - Devils Punch Bowl State Natural Area

The Town of Otter Rock is a quaint seaside community situated within the jurisdictional authority of Lincoln County Oregon and features a variety of choices for residential housing highlighted by the many individual home sites set on or near its sandstone cliffs overlooking the ocean and the beach strand of Beverly Beach. The main section of Otter Rock includes the park grounds of the Devils Punch Bowl State Natural Area, a tiny strip of retail boutiques and dining eateries, and residential neighborhoods surrounding the business district area. The Devils Punch Bowl State Natural Area is named after the Devils Punch Bowl, a hollow bowl rock formation found within the cliffs fronting the Otter Rock Area believed to be the remnants of a collapsed sea cave worn away over time by the constant forces of the ocean. Also, the Devils Punch Bowl State Natural Area offers a nice set of amenities including scenic picnic areas overlooking the ocean and Gull Rock, an access stairway leading to the beach sands of Beverly Beach and a popular surfing spot, public parking and restrooms, and a marine garden area located on the north side of the headland teaming with intertidal animals thriving in its abundant and colorful tide pools.
