Neptune State Scenic Viewpoint - Tenmile Creek Community Area

One of the most beautiful coastline stretches found along the Oregon Coast and the route of the Highway 101 is the coastal section built from the City of Yachats southward to the City of Florence. Highway 101 runs along a narrow strip of land sandwiched in between breath-taking ocean shorelines and densely covered hillsides thriving with weathered coastal pines. This scenic drive is always intriguing no matter the weather conditions present during one’s travels. From the Strawberry Hill Picnic Area, the southward course of Highway 101 runs along this stunning scenery and heads over the Gwynn Knoll Headland. On the south side of Gwynn Knoll, the flowing waters of Bob Creek meet the ocean. At this setting is the Bob Creek Wayside, another park location contained within the Neptune State Scenic Viewpoint. The park includes a beautiful picnic area overlooking the beach strand extending southward and also provides access to the beach and its tide pool areas teeming with colorful intertidal wildlife. Continuing southward, Highway 101 meanders along the ocean bluffs to Brays Point. The highway turnout at Brays Point offers stunning vantage points of the shoreline including panoramic vistas of Gwynn Knoll to the north and the beach strand of Searose Beach to the south. From Brays Point, Highway 101 heads into the quaint Tenmile Creek Community Area renowned for its outstanding coastal scenery and its unspoiled beach areas, especially the beach strand of Searose Beach.
