North Newport - The Community Areas of North Agate Beach
Heading southward from the Carmel Knoll Community Area, Highway 101 travels towards Yaquina Head and the neighborhoods built to the north of the headland. At the north end of Newport are several communities built near the NW 68th Street beach access point. The North Beach Estates Development is situated on the bluffs overlooking Moolack Beach and offers a community trail leading down to the NW 68th Street beach access. The other residential area is Shore Pine Hills, and is located on the east side of the highway. Further south is the RV facility known as the Outdoor Resorts Pacific Shores Motorcoach Resort featuring its own community beach access plus other clubhouse amenities catering to Motorcoach enthusiasts. The North Agate Beach Community Area is situated between the RV resort and Yaquina Head. This area features a combination of city neighborhoods and planned developments located on either side of Highway 101. Two notable developments include Longview Hills, a gated subdivision catering to seniors 55 and older and the Lighthouse Estates Development affording scenic views of the Yaquina Head Lighthouse.
