South Aerial Guide Overview
Tour Two Conclusion

Thank you for viewing Tour Two of the South Aerial Guide Overview. The tour showcases the lengthy beach strands found along the coastline sections of the Communities of Seal Rock and Waldport. The rock formations of Seal Rocks add to the scenic qualities of the Seal Rock Community offering offshore vistas of water-worn sea stacks and rocky islets protruding above the ocean waters. Further south, the Alsea Bay Estuary contributes the quality of life enjoyed by the Community of Waldport. The Alsea Bay Estuary serves as an important contributor to the financial health of the Waldport Community in addition to providing a pristine environment for many forms of wildlife to flourish including Birds of Prey, Herons and Egrets, Western Gulls and Cormorants as well as a local resident population of Harbor Seals.

The Seal Rock and Waldport Communities draw much of their heritage to the early homesteaders and pioneers that found a bounty of natural resources along this stretch of coastline, especially in the area of the Alsea Bay. Today, these communities continue to evolve while still maintaining an essence of small town community living on the coast. These areas remain less populated than their community counterparts to the north and offer shared community access points for reaching miles of sandy shorelines relatively flat in nature.

The broad expanse of the beaches provides an ideal setting to enjoy the fresh air of the ocean and the sounds of the white water surf while finding a personal solitude along the ocean shores. Further enhancing the beach experience is the opportunity to observe many forms of natural wildlife living on or near the ocean waters and offshore rock formations. Also, the Alsea Bay adds another level of recreational use supporting boating and kayaking interests as well as fishing, clamming and crabbing activities within the bay itself.

The tour covered the many choices available for residential living along this section of coastline featuring the many neighborhood areas located within the Communities of Seal Rock and Waldport. The tour highlighted the outstanding State and Federal Park Facilities built along this section of the Oregon Coast further increasing the choices for outdoor entertainment and recreation. While the coastal communities continue to grow in popularity, the Seal Rock and Waldport Communities remain well-liked for their close connection to water and the beauty of nature.
